We are currently in the throws of running through our autumn/winter short course programme in the UK. With little rain to cheer about until yesterday, the season has been a non-starter to date. Thankfully we are on a reboot and off running from this weekend. 

The likes of Andrew Bonney, Deb Pinniger, Nick Horwood, Amy Elworthy and Simon Westgarth are in Devon to ensure our performance coaching programmes are deliveried to keep paddlers stoked. Both Jakub Sedivy and Jake Holland are on their travels. Jakub is in Peru and recently completed the Abyssmo canyon of the Apurimac river, whilst Jake is geting his production business new projects in Nepal.

Presently bookings are strong for this autumn and into winter, lets hope the wet weather stays.

AUTUMN 2016 REBOOT IS A GO
Feels like we've been waiting a long time to go paddling in the UK this autumn........thankfully the weather has started to change and people have gotten out recently. During the last month we have been postponing many courses, moving over one hundred bookings, which has created a mountain of admin and many busy weekends to come......

THE GENE17 ADVENTURE PADDLERS WEEKEND 2/4 DEC 2016



The Adventure Paddlers Weekend, a meeting point for all kayakers near the end of the year celebrates the Adventure Paddlers Weekend! On Saturday Gene17kayaking hosts an evening of new films from recent expeditions. We'll also have a DJ to see the night through. We leave the daytime free for yourselves to go paddling with your friends, to catch up on old times and have your our adventure. The event is located at the highly popular River Dart, on Dartmoor, as usual.  See our Facebook event for details.

Our closed course rate, of £250 a day for a Gene17kayaking coach for up to 4 white water paddlers is great value for money, as well as great coaching too. Contact Us for further information and booking.

 

We always run a full programme of white water courses for individuals too, and through the autumn into winter for 2016/17. Paddlers can of course book on individually, via our Course Webpage.  

 
UPPER DART GUIDING - AMY ELWORTHY 

Several years back Amy tentatively joined Gene17 on a trip in Norway, after a few knock backs with her own paddling experiences.  With a long term development plan, hard work and dedication Amy has become a solid Class IV paddler and river guide.  She recently joined us on our Next Generation programme, a summer internship in Norway and has completed her BCU 5 Star River Leader Award.  Amy has been guiding fiends and family down the Upper Dart for some time now, and she'll ensure you'll have a great time and learn some fine lines too.  The Upper Dart guiding with Amy is very popular, and after several requests we have added an optional warm up day on the Dart Loop.   See Guiding with Amy for further details and booking.
The uptake this autumn has been very strong, especially for technique courses.  For us this means paddlers are starting again to focus on their paddling performance, as well as a strong desire to work through BCU qualifications. We have lots of availability for intermediates & aspiring white water kayakers on our Fundamental Core Skills, Progressive & LaunchPad courses.
