500+ Angels Need Your Support This Holiday Season!

Help make the season brighter by adopting one or more angels off the  Northwest ISD Partners in Education Virtual Angel Tree. This year's virtual angel tree still has more than 500 children who need assistance this holiday season.

Thank you to the teachers, staff and community members who have already adopted an angel from the virtual tree. To date, more than 200 angels have been adopted.

To adopt an angel:
  1. Go online to angeltree.nisdtx.org to access the Northwest ISD Partners in Education Virtual Angel Tree.
  2. Make your selections.

The virtual angel tree items, along with a printed copy of the details, will need to be delivered to the NISD Administration Building (2001 Texan Drive, Justin, 76247) by Friday, December 2.

Volunteers are needed to help sort and distribute Virtual Angel Tree items. Please call Partners in Education with your availability at 817-215-0175

Volunteer Spotlight:  Jane Tankersley

Meet Jane Tankersley, a volunteer at Sendera Ranch Elementary School.  She spends her time volunteering in kindergarten classes and at lunch time.

"My motivation to volunteer was my grandchild who started kindergarten and wanting to help his class in any way possible," Tankersley said.  "I'm a retired cafeteria manager with over 20 years of experience working with children of all ages. Volunteering with our Sendera Kindergarten classes is my way of giving back and watching our children grow in the right direction. Seeing the kinder kids learn, improve and master any challenge we work on together is truly a reward in itself - very gratifying."   Tankersley has logged more than 100 volunteer hours since the school year started.

Tankersley said she likes everyone at the campus.  "From the front office staff to each teacher I have had the pleasure of getting to know so far this year and over the past 5 years that my other grandchild attended Sendera Ranch, every person is a positive role model for our children."

The Northwest ISD Partners in Education program creates school-support opportunities for parents, businesses and the community by offering a wide variety of options amenable to every schedule, talent and expertise.  PIE brings volunteers into Northwest ISD classrooms at each campus and all grade levels.  To learn more, please visit www.nisdtx.org/pie.
