Weekly Update
Paving contractors to take advantage of any dry spells
Travelers should expect nighttime delays on both Brookwood Parkway and Cornelius Pass Road during any significant period of dry weather as contractors finish paving the roads.
The early onset of the rainy season has delayed nighttime paving multiple times. Paving requires dry weather and temperatures above 45 degrees. While temperatures have not been a problem, parts of Washington County saw over 8 inches of rain in October.
One paving shift remains on the Brookwood Parkway project. The project will be finished by Dec. 31, including striping, sidewalks, landscaping and signal work at the Brookwood/Huffman and Brookwood/Evergreen intersections.
Work on Cornelius Pass Road, including paving, striping and installation of traffic detection loops, will be performed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sundays through Saturdays until Nov. 30. There will continue to be lane closures during daytime hours as needed. The project is scheduled for completion by Dec. 31.
All work is dependent on weather. For more information, contact Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation at lutproj@co.washington.or.us or 503-846-7800. For the latest road construction schedules, visit www.wc-roads.com.
