Elementary Spirit Assembly
& Spirit Wear Unveiling
Elementary got a sneak peek of the fun new SPIRIT WEAR at the assembly today. Come to the unveiling of the full line at the Fall-A-Palooza on Sunday!
Our ASB Leadership Team hosted the entire assembly. Great Job ASB!
TICKETS: For those of you who purchased tickets in advance, your entrance wristband will be at the ticket table for pick-up on Sunday.
FOOD OPTIONS: You may bring your own food or purchase from the Food and Dessert Trucks that will be at the event.
SPIRIT WEAR: For anyone who can't make Fall-A-Palooza, PTF will be selling Spirit Wear outside the front lobby on Monday morning (11/7) from 7:30-8:30 a.m.
To extend the Fall-A-Palooza celebration, all MCS students may dress in any fun color combinations of
Teal, Black, and White on Monday, November 7th. If they attended the Fall-A-Palooza, they can use their teal wristbands as part of their dress attire. We will be selling some new SPIRIT WEAR items at Fall-A-Palooza, and they can also keep any face painting or MCS tattoos to wear on 11/7. All students can show their school spirit creatively, whether they attended the Fall-A-Palooza or not.
If you have not already seen it, Mr. Moore has some cool ideas for School Spirit Dress Day on the second half of this video.
Free Dress Guidelines Reminders:
All students are to have a neat, clean and modest appearance at all times, including free dress days
Girls' shorts or skirts must be no shorter than 3 inches above the knee
If leggings are worn, tops must extend past the fingertips
Shoes with heels higher than 1/2" may not be worn
Tank tops must have width of three fingers
Jeans are acceptable on free dress days
Students are not to wear: torn clothes, pajamas, sweats or yoga pants, excessively tight-fitting clothes, spaghetti straps, tops that expose the midriff, clothing with cut-outs, or costume-type clothing
MCS Annual Fund Kick-Off
Next week marks the kick-off of MCS's 2016 Annual Fund Campaign: Made to Glorify! Every year, the MCS Annual Fund provides vital resources that directly impact our students, teachers, and programs.
We humbly ask that between now and December 31, you prayerfully consider how your family can participate, at any level - our goal this year is 100% family participation! We have some fun ideas in mind to add some FUN to our year-end giving, so watch our website and social media for details.
Thank you in advance for your partnership in helping MCS continue providing exceptional preparation for our students academically, spiritually, and socially.
Elementary Chapel - Operation Christmas Child
Did you know that you can pack some of God's love into a shoebox?
One of our very own MCS families, Sarah (mom), Luke (4th), and Evan (1st) Doyle, joined our elementary chapels to talk about how they look for opportunities all year to collect special items in order to pack shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, a special project with Samaritan's Purse. MCS has long had a tradition of extending this voluntary opportunity for families to give with shoeboxes.
The Doyles shared in an interview about how this grew from packing just one shoebox, to creating 115 last year!
You can view this Operation Christmas Child fun video, "How to Pack a Shoebox," as a family if you would like to know more.
Click for video (or click below).
There are more boxes and pamphlets available in the Front Lobby. Our collection drive is November 14th through December 7th. MCS will then deliver our contributions to a local processing center. You just never know where in the world your box will end up blessing someone with the message of God's love!
We would like to thank our Elementary ASB for sorting and delivering shoeboxes to each classroom during their lunch break.

Thanksgiving Break - November 21-25
Professional Development Day - Friday, November 18th: No School
There is no school on Friday, November 18th, due to a Professional Development Day for faculty and staff.
November 21-25 is our Thanksgiving Break. School Resumes on Monday, November 28th.
This month will hopefully bring us changing leaves, crisp Autumn air, and time gathered around the Thanksgiving table with family and friends.
Recent research reveals the following:
Question: How often do we ouch our phones?
Answer: Oh, only about 2, 617 times a day.
A pretty staggering number, right? Here is the reality check - although we were made by God with peace in mind, there are many forces that war against that. Digital noise is just one of them. And, although peace is defined as a noun, it seems it will take ACTION to cultivate it. See the attached newsletter for a suggested tool to help foster connection and create a bit of space for gratitude and prayer, which Philippians 4 says is the precursor to peace that guards our hearts.
