VARSITY TO HOST PLAYOFF GAME ON FRIDAY
There will be one more game at Mercer Stadium this season, as the Hyacks will play host to Mt Boucherie this Friday night in the AAA Wildcard Playoffs. This marks the 3rd straight year the Hyacks have hosted a playoff game.
The Hyacks come into the game with a 4-2 league record (6-3 overall) and the 3rd seed in the Western Conference, following their 42-14 loss at South Delta last Saturday. Sammy Sidhu opened the scoring in this game and would score both TDs for the Hyacks on 71 yards rushing. Defensively Connor Pattison recorded 7 tackles, while Liam Mackay and Trew Dancey added 6 and 5 tackles respectively.
Mt Boucherie is the 6th seed in the Eastern Conference. The last time these two teams met was in the 2014 wildcard playoffs, also at Mercer Stadium, with the Hyacks winning 40 - 7.

YOUTH FOOTBALL
JR BANTAM:
The JBs staged a thrilling come from behind win, 19-14 at Cloverdale, in their semi-final playoff game. Trailing 14-6 at halftime, the Hyacks defense pitched a shutout in the 2nd half, led by multiple QB sacks from
Gabriel Bastos
and Gus Oliver, while Luke Perizzolo made the final tackle to seal the win. Andros Dancey scored all 3 TDs for the Hyacks and also caught a pass from Jordan Freeland for a PAT. The Hyacks will now play for the VMFL 9-man Championship next Sunday at 12pm vs Richmond at Hugh Boyd.
PEE WEE:
A big 25-0 win over the GSL Lions.
Maxim Butkovski
and Greg Palmer stymied the Lions rushing attack. Callum Rogers managed to strip the ball and return it for a defensive TD. The Hyack offensive line led by Karrson MacCuaig, Liam Noakes and David Bastos provided all kinds of running room for Gavin Garrett who scored his first TD of the year. AJ Llwellyn and Rogers scored the other two majors.
ATOM:
The Atoms lost 40-20 at White Rock. Benicio Hageleit scored pair of TDs while Nathan Hillmann added 1 major. Lukas Lalji ran in a pair of conversions. Jordan Cook and Matteo McDonnell showed improvement in their blocking. Despite the loss, the Atoms have qualified for the playoffs and will travel to Cloverdale next Sunday at 2:00pm
FLAG BLACK
The Tykes Black team defeated the Westside Warriors 14-8 in a tight defensive battle. Alexander and Demetri Biniaris each scored a touchdown and George Paterakis added a 2pt conversion. The team had strong defensive play from Jai-shon Llewellyn and JJ Pagaduan.
