THIS WEEK'S SCRIPTURE
PASTOR'S BLOG
Greetings Cascade Family and Friends,

In just two days--on Friday, November 11-we, as a nation, will celebrate Veterans Day .  It is the one time of the year that we get to say thanks to retired Veterans and our active duty military for committing to serve all year long.  During the 12 th Annual Veterans Ministry Banquet on Saturday evening, Chief Warrant Officer4 Angela Williams reminded us that these men and women choose to serve and defend our country. Despite the great personal sacrifice, they consistently ensure that the United States of America is a safer and more orderly place to live.  Their decision to fight for rights, freedom and honor becomes their purpose and they give whatever it takes to complete their mission.

So, if you are reading this and YOU are one those who have served or who currently serves in our military, we say, "God Bless You!" If you happen to be a member of a family who has experienced the passing of a service man or woman, we stand with you especially now. We, too, feel a great loss. We also pray for your peace, healing, and restoration.

Cascade's veterans are our "unsung heroes."  Their awesome ministry and consistent outreach efforts have blessed this congregation and the community. They function as team players, work hard as servant leaders and always do exceptional work. Because this group of men and women are the best in the world, they lead when called upon with excellence.  They live among us with great character and exemplify moral fortitude.  They have earned our love, respect and support.  We look forward to hearing a profound message from Brigadier General Sheila R. Baxter on Sunday morning, November 13, at our 8:00 am service. I hope you will come and invite other veterans and their families to worship with us.
From our hearts to all of yours, CASCADE VETERANS, Thank You.  We Love You.  We Appreciate You.  We continue to Pray for You.
Let's never forget that, "All gave some, but Some gave All."

Blessings,
Pastor Lawrence L. Young
