Let Us Know How You Feel...Really!
The
SCI Alberta Services Survey will
tell us how you feel about our customer services, the services you have received in the last 12 months and the impact these services have had on your life. Results will be used to make important decisions about our future direction.
All responses are strictly confidential and anonymous and will not affect any services you receive from SCI Alberta.
The survey will take about 15 minutes to complete.
If you have any questions or trouble completing the survey, contact angie.barron@sci-ab.ca 587-410-2521 or 1-888-654-5444. Thanks and let's get started!
Times Roll Back

Hope for Wellness Help Line
1-855-242-3310
Available 24/7 to provide immediate, culturally competent telephone-based crisis intervention counselling to First Nations and Inuit young people and adults experiencing distress. The Government of Canada announced immediate and targeted mental wellness support for indigenous communities. The national help line is expected to compliment other measures over the next three years.
Rentfaster
Rentfaster a website used in both Edmonton and Calgary to locate (market) rental housing has improved its filters to help people find accessible housing in the rental market. Rather than just a wheelchair accessible checkbox, you can now use the filters under "home features" to select - Zero step entrance, - extra wide doorways and - roll-in shower. Currently there are very few units listed using these filters but as new listings are posted, all listers will be able to select these features. Thank you to Accessible Housing for their work related to this important and challenging area.
Have You Applied for a Barrier Buster Grant Yet?
These grants, partly funded by the Government of Canada, offer up to $30,000 to approximately 50 schools and community groups across the country who identify and undertake accessibility infrastructure improvement projects and awareness events. These projects could include the installation of ramps, accessible play spaces or visual and audio emergency systems. Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, so we encourage you to apply now at
rickhansen.com/access4all.
What an Accessible Canada Means to You!
With good turnouts and lots of feedback after sessions in Edmonton and Calgary recently, as well as sessions across the country, we look forward to hearing more as all of this information is gathered and used to plan for a more accessible Canada. If you have any questions, contact the Office for Disability Issues: Phone: 1-844-836-8126, TTY: 819-934-6649, Fax: 819-953-4797, email
