KNOWvember News
November 9, 2016
Dear Members and Fellow Pain Warriors,

Welcome to November! This month, we will be continuing our tradition of education through our KNOWvember campaign. This year's theme focuses on "Raising aRAREness" for rare diseases. Through our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts, this educational campaign will continue to explain a different rare disease and provide information about where you can learn more. We will also be hosting numerous educational events, so please check out our calendar of events.

We would also like to thank everyone who helped our October fundraisers become huge successes. Your continued support and generosity is what allows us to continue our work throughout the pain community.

As the holidays begin and you continue to try to keep up, we want you to know that the U.S. Pain Foundation is here for you. We will continue fighting alongside of you throughout your journey, and will never stop advocating for you.

Wishing you high-spirits and low-pain,
Paul Gileno

A Night of Honor and Giving

U.S. Pain Foundation is honored to present a
Wings for Warriors Gala; "A Night of Honor and Giving." The event will honor veterans, spouses, and our military families for their sacrifices.

Wings for Warriors is a 501c3, nonprofit organization in support of combat wounded military service members returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan.
The mission is to provide necessary tools, insight, and resources for wounded veterans as they go through the recovery process and transition into new realities. This is done through several different services. U.S. Pain Foundation is proud to offer this program for its veterans to make sure they know they are not alone.
It is our hope that you will wish to support this much-needed event to create patient awareness and education.

Joselynn Badman Ambassador of the Year Award

"This year, there's been a whirlwind of activity within the patient-focused awareness and advocacy arena. We have seen disheartening legislation, regulation and recommendations being introduced or passed at the state and federal levels. At the same time, we've witnessed empowering movements and proactive concepts turned from dreams into realities. As we near the end of this historical chapter for America and patients living with chronic pain, it's fitting that U.S. Pain Foundation has unveiled an uplifting honor for pain warriors.
U.S. Pain recently announced nominations for the 2016  Joselynn Badman Ambassador of the Year Award had officially opened. This prestigious award is an annual recognition presented to a volunteer of the organization who has excelled in grassroots awareness and advocacy efforts for the pain community. The tribute was created to highlight the courageous and selfless efforts of Pain Ambassador Joselynn Badman of Indiana. The award is given to an Ambassador, Advocate and/or Volunteer of U.S. Pain who inspires others to make a positive difference by aligning with the organization's mission:  to educate, connect, inform and empower pain warriors while advocating on behalf of the entire pain community.
We're inviting interested individuals to nominate a pain warrior they feel is deserving of this high honor. The nominee must be a current U.S. Pain Ambassador, Advocate and/or Volunteer who exemplifies the attributes necessary to being a leader within the pain community and provides positive contributions to their local community..." - Continue Reading
