ST. PHILIP PAGES AND BLOGS
Dear Parents,
Several weeks ago there was in incident at Villa Park that took place while our JV and Varsity football teams were there.  Our teams and their coaches heard what sounded like shots fired.  They reacted appropriately and gathered together.  The police were called and came quickly.
During the investigation that followed the police arrested a suspect.  St. Philips is no longer using Villa Park as a practice or game field. We have doubled up on other parks and next year we will request a new home field from the city.  It is important that our students have the opportunity to play sports and be competitive but of course their safety is of utmost importance.  Our athletes and our coaches handled the incident perfectly and I am proud of them. Thank God all are safe.
Please pray for the fifteen year old suspect in this case.  He is not much older than our 8th grade students.  God can turn lives around and we need to offer our prayers that this young man's life can be touched by the grace of God.

Have a peaceful week.
Jennifer

7th GRADE CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY SERVICE
BOXES
The 7th Grade is in preparation for their upcoming Thanksgiving food drive. You can help them out by sending in any empty paper ream boxes that you have at your office. We will be using them as collection boxes in each classroom and then filling them with all the donated food items that are collected in November. Thank you for your support of the 7th Grade!

FOOD DRIVE
The 7 th graders are asking that you have an "Attitude of Gratitude" this Thanksgiving season, as once again they lead St. Philips school wide food drive to help provide Thanksgiving dinners for the less fortunate. Please see the attached flyer for the donations list per grade. The collection boxes will be in your child's classroom from Nov. 7-18. Our goal is to serve over 60 families this year. Thank you and God bless.

2nd GRADE CHRISTIAN SERVICE
Please SUPPORT OUR 2ND GRADE CHRISTIAN SERVICE PROJECT:

Ho! Ho! Ho! Help brighten this holiday season for needy children, by supporting the Christmas Candy Donation Drive!   Donate any unwanted candy from Halloween in the marked bins in each classroom and at the front office from 10/31-11/4. (Please do not donate any candy that has Halloween-themed packaging).  The 2 nd graders will be making Christmas candy bags for Assisting Children Ministry to give out to children when their families receive Holiday food donations.   We appreciate your support.
