LMS Activities
College of Agriculture & Bioresources Career Fair
November 2, 2016
LMS and SCA shared a booth at the 2016 College of Ag Bio Career Fair to promote careers in the cattle sector. We developed a new display and handout resources to educate interested students on important career opportunities in Saskatchewan's beef industry.

A big thank you to Rhett Parks of Whitewood Livestock Sales who volunteered his time to man the booth and interact with the students.

Rhett was kept busy as it was a very well attended Career Fair. He had the opportunity to speak to around 160 students through the course of the day.

"This was a really worthwhile event. A number of the students I talked to have an interest in the cattle industry but were not totally aware of all of the career opportunities we have in our industry," states Parks.
Saskatoon Livestock Sales Field Trip
October 14, 2016
The field trip was a great success and we want to thank Mike Fleury and the staff at Saskatoon Livestock Sales for accommodating our group. We also want to thank Alan Jackson who took time out of his schedule to talk to the students about order buying.

The group consisted of 20 undergrad and graduate students from the College of Agriculture & Bioresources who expressed an interest in seeing how auction markets are managed and how a cattle sale is run. Over half of the participants had never been to a livestock auction before and found it very informative. Many were interested in learning about prospective job opportunities in the cattle industry.

 www.BeefCareers.ca
The website BeefCareers.ca has been updated but will remain on the current platform for the time being.

This website is a key resource used in the joint Student Outreach Project with the Saskatchewan Cattlemen's Association to promote careers in the cattle sector to students and interested job seekers.
