I know many of you are already dreading the upcoming holiday season; all the chaos, disrupted scedules, obligations, baking, shopping... the list goes on. All while saving your child's life.
So, this Christmas I've put together a Twelve Days of Christmas blast to help you get through the holidays - in one piece!
A few things to get you started:
Stay focused on the important things, like healing your child and bringing peace into your home. It might mean Skipping Christmas*, and that's OK.
Keep schedules and routines going at home. With all the chaos at school and in the community, our kids need home to be a safe place.
Don't let your RAD kids spoil the family fun that you have planned this month. Take them off to another room if they don't want to participate or have them go to respite - having fun is always optional.
Love, Karen
*Skipping Christmas by John Grisham is a great book; it'll keep you laughing! (And it isn't even about lawyers.)
Friends & Family Supporting Awesome Parents
You may have a family member, friend, or neighbour that has a child with RAD.
Many of you wonder just what it is exactly that you can do to help these Awesome Parents out; so I've created this Twelve Days of Christmas blast to help you help them.
Also, please understand that this is a time of year that is very hard on our families; they can't go on all the outings, and attend services or gatherings, even though they really want to. Let them know that you understand, support them, and will miss them.
They need an extra dose of love and support this month!
