Social Skill for Success:
Purcell Marian is in its third three of utilizing the Boystown Well Managed School
Model.  It is a prosocial skill training method emphasizing at least 16 marketable skills for success in school, and the workplace.  This method promotes a common, consistent language and procedure to teach theses social skills that will help all become successful Cavaliers.  We will be highlighting a skill each week.

Accepting Criticism is skill of the week. The steps for asking for Accepting Criticism are:

1. Look at the person
2. Say Okay
3. Stay Calm

We have already had this skill of the week this year, but have seen a need to re-focus and re-teach it.  Please visit the parent website for Boystown at http://www.parenting.org . We will be highlighting one of the skills each week in the parent newsletter.

Update Purcell Marian All School Policy
Focus of the Week - Teacher Detentions
A reminder to students and parents alike. If a teacher asks a student to see them after school the student must report to that teacher. The purpose for this disciplinary consequence is for the teacher and student to communicate about problem behaviors or to clarify classroom rules. If a student cannot serve the teacher detention that day, they should communicate the reason for missing and re-schedule the detention with the teacher. If a student misses a teacher detention and there has been no communication, then the student will receive a demerit and all school detention.

Update - Walk Update
We reached our goal of $10,000 again this year which earns us a day off school, that day off will take place on Friday Oct. 28th. Enjoy your day off Cavaliers and thanks to everyone who donated.

Out of Uniform - Monday Oct. 31st . We will be out of uniform on Halloween for $2.00. Students can wear customs, however they must be appropriate. If a student has a question about a custom they should see Mr. Tobin or Ms. Winfrey to discuss. The cost of the out of uniform will be $2.00 and will support our Parent Group P3.
