November 2016

Santa Fe TTN is organized and led entirely by volunteers.

TTN Website 2.0

Susan Collins, TTN Executive Director, is sharing this message: DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS OF NOVEMBER 11-12,
we will launch a new version of The Transition Network website. While it will look a lot like our current site, it will have an updated back end and some new and exciting features for members and chapter administrators.

Stay tuned for more information on what you will need to know to sign in and sign up for all the wonderful TTN programs and events.

Co-C oordinators' Corner

Rachel Greenstein & Sue Burgess
Why did I join TTN? When I got to Santa Fe, I knew almost no one, wanted to make friends and feel like I belonged to something in my new city. Plus, the mission spoke volumes to me. What's a bigger transition than moving from New York City (where I spent my entire life) to Santa Fe (where I knew no one).

And, almost three years later, why am I chapter co-coordinator? Because, along with a community of caring, interesting, good women, TTN continues to provide me with many engaging programs that address my various ongoing transitions (from unemployed to working full-time) and introduce me to wonderful new people and places I probably wouldn't know, but for TTN.

I know 'giving back" can seem like a cliché but, if even a few women, whether new to Santa Fe or just in need of new community, find in TTN what I did, my investment will have been a good one.

My co-coordinator, Sue's, most important reasons for participating in TTN have been the friendships she's made in her Transition Peer Group and the excellent programs and wide range of activities we offer.

Our October meeting was all about planning programs and activities for the coming year. Check our newsletter's  Calendar of Events each month to see what's coming up!

So, come join us for a meeting, coffee or happy hour - a great way to get to know TTN's community of welcoming women. Then you too, like Sue and I, may find yourself telling other good women about TTN.  ....Rachel

Members Viewed Native American Art in Santa Fe Collection!

Six TTN members convened at the School for Advanced Research (SAR) on Thursday, October 14th, for a tour of the vaults containing a collection of more than 12,000 pieces of Native American art.  Amazing pottery from pre-Spanish to modern day viewed on open shelves.  Amazing jewelry, textiles, basketry, sand paintings, drums and clothing representing the pueblos' cultures and unique traditions. We were immersed in the heritage in this place that we live. Amazing opportunity!

Thank you!
