DC Comprehensive Plan Amendment

The DC Office of Planning (OP) is amending the District's Comprehensive Plan, a 20-year framework that guides future growth and development in the city and shapes the places we live, work, shop, and play. OP launched the second amendment cycle to the Comprehensive Plan this year to ensure that the Plan remains responsive to the needs of the community.

WMATA may soon consider a proposal that would adjust its hours of operations for all rail service. On the table for consideration is a proposal to reduce hours so that rail stations will close sooner. During Tuesday's legislative session the DC Council voted unanimously to support a resolution that supports WMATA's late hours of operations. The DC Chamber is in support of the Council & Mayor's efforts to keep Metrorail open.

Briefing of District of Columbia Stakeholders by Executive Staff of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Office of Supply Chain
District of Columbia stakeholders and other invited guests:
The Airports Authority Board Members who were appointed by the Mayor of the District of Columbia and the Staff of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority have scheduled a briefing session on contracting opportunities with the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority on Thursday, October 27 from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
The Vice President for Supply Chain Management and the Deputy Vice-President for Supplier Diversity of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority will brief the invited group on the Airports Authority's current and upcoming business contracting opportunities and associated outreach strategies for maximizing participation by vendors throughout the metropolitan region, and especially from the District of Columbia. The Office of Supply Chain Management has already operationalized a number of process changes, including passing specific procurement notifications and forecast information, Turner-hosted events, and outreach notices to not only currently certified LDBE vendors, but also to the Airports Authority's partner organizations, including several of the DC organizations included as invitees.
The briefing will include information on the following topics, among others:
- B2G System Implementation Update
- Regan Washington National Airport Terminal B/C Redevelopment Procurement Activities, with Specific Emphasis on Outreach for Current and Upcoming Packages
- High Level 2017 Outreach Plan, including Internal and External Communications (and Audiences), Recurring 'How to Do Business with the Authority' and LDBE Certification Workshops, and Specific Events the Office of Supplier Diversity plans to attend/host
Please indicate your availability to participate in this meeting by accepting this meeting invitation. If more than five of the invited guests are unable to participate in the meeting on October 27th, we may be able to schedule the meeting for November 2nd or 3rd at the same time (3 p.m.).
So please indicate your availability on those alternative dates in order to expedite the selection of a confirmed meeting date that will accommodate the greatest number of invited attendees.
