From Mrs. Rowley   trees-square-sm.jpg

It was great seeing so many of our school families enjoying Sunday's parish picnic. We had a great turn-out and we are grateful to our PTO and volunteers for running the games

Scantron testing is continuing this week, with our 3rd and 4th graders. Please keep our students in prayer as they test over the next two weeks.

Today we were honored to welcome renowned author Raymond Arroyo to our school for an assembly. He spoke with our students, followed by a presentation for parents and parishioners. Thanks to the PTO for arranging this wonderful event.

Our school will be attending a presentation by Fr. Tvrdik on Monday morning at 10:00am in the church. Fr. Tvrdik will be in the parish for a mission and will give talks to the parish on Saturday, Sunday and Monday evenings. Complete information is in the church bulletin. How blessed we are to share in these wonderful offerings by our parish.

Have a blessed week.

VERY IMPORTANT: Next week I will be redoing the email list for the Buzz. I will be making a completely new mailing list with only the emails of the students registered at the school. If you do not have a student at the school, but still want to receive the Buzz, please email me. Please let me know if you have any questions!

School Gala- March 3rd

The Gala is only 5 ½ months away! It promises to be a fun evening with a St. Patrick's Day theme of "A Lucky Knight for St. Ambrose". Many volunteers equal a successful event for OUR school! What are YOUR talents? Please contact Cindy Hollcraft at [email protected] and let her know how you can help.

Don't forget to support our Gala t-shirt fundraiser! Orders are placed online at: https://www.customink.com/fundraising/st-ambrose-gala-shirt. Order now through October 4 th . They are great for the whole family. Kids can wear them on SOME early dismissal days - don't let YOUR child be the only one in uniform those days! Order yours today!

Constipation

Constipation is a very common problem in children. A child is considered constipated when he or she has fewer than three bowel movements in a week; has trouble having a bowel movement; or when the stool (poop) is hard, dry, and unusually large.

Constipation usually is not a cause for concern, and easy to avoid by adopting healthy eating and exercise habits.

Causes of Constipation

Constipation usually is due to a diet that does not include enough water and fiber, which help the bowels move properly. Children who eat lots of processed foods, cheeses, white bread and bagels, and meats may become constipated fairly often. Eating a healthier diet with high-fiber foods like fruits, vegetables, and whole grains can keep stool from getting hard and dry.

Shout Outs!
Thank you to all who volunteered at the parish picnic this past Sunday.  The PTO Games station was a grand success again this year thanks in part to Luisa & Scott Williams, Kathleen & Phil Coady along with PJ Coady, a.k.a. Twister Master.

Another shout-out to Lorraine Sloma-Williams for all her work coordinating the fabulous Raymond Arroyo assemblies this morning (and thanks also to our favorite driver, Tom).
