While Raising A Reader encourages reading and literacy activities to develop your child's oral language skills, simply CONNECTING and BONDING with your child is also
key, especially when you talk about the activity. When children associate love with learning, talking and exploring, they are more successful in school. Some ideas:
1. Take a walk together and talk about what you see.
2. Sit and color together. Talk about the pictures and the colors, and imagine what is happening in the picture.
3. Cook or prepare something together and talk about the ingredients.
4. Listen to your favorite music together. Sing.
