Annual Awards Dinner:
You can still register for our Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday, November 3rd in Middletown. Get Your Veterans CE Hours:
Join us for a special continuing education workshop on Serving Post 9-11 Veterans in the Community: What You Need to Know. This program meets the CE requirement for two-hours on veterans and their families. The program is coming up soon, November 4th from 9 AM-12 Noon, at Eastern CT State University, Willimantic. Final Push - PACE Volunteers Needed for Weekend Before Elections & Election Day:
Election 2016 is coming down to the wire and CT PACE needs your help to elect our endorsed candidates. The federal campaigns may not be in question for CT but our state legislative districts have many tight races where your help is needed. If you have even two hours to give this weekend, the weekend before Election Day or on Election Day let us know at http://naswct.org/events/ct-pace-volunteer/
. We have an all-time high of 7 social workers running and many other endorsed candidates throughout the state the can use the power of social work!
Share Your Expertise - Attain 5 CECs:
Do you have professional information to share with colleagues? Or know of someone whose work deserves to be brought to the attention of others? Our Call for Workshops to our Annual Conference is now out. We seek proposals on all aspects of social work, from micro to macro. Opportunities exist for 90 minute, 2-hour and 3-hour presentations. We seek skills building proposals that can be utilized by other social workers and related professionals. Selected presenters will receive 5 CECs for presenting plus you can attend other workshops for free (we charge for lunch only). For more information and to submit a proposal go to www.naswct.org . Legislative Committee Seeks New Members:

Social Work Virtual Book Club:
Join the NASW Connecticut Virtual Book Club by Wednesday November 7th to vote for our next book. To sign up please visit http://pbc.guru/nasw/connecticut/. The program is $49 per year for chapter members. The book club connects virtually through a LinkedIn group to discuss books related to social work and social justice. The last selection was I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai. The book club gives participants the opportunity to earn 3 CECs, read interesting books related to social work and connect with other social workers, all on your own time

An Hour With Private Practice: Questions and Answers
is a free question and answer session held the third Wednesday of the month, 12 noon - 1 PM EST (except December). The monthly calls focus on a specific private practice topics. Workshop Proposals Sought:
True Colors is soliciting workshop proposals for True Colors XXIV: Imagining a World Conference, which will be held on Friday, March 17 & 18, 2017 at UCONN, Storrs. This is the largest LGBTQA & ally youth issues conference in the world. Workshop proposal forms are available at www.ourtruecolors.oerg and the deadline to submit is November 4th at 5 PM.
LGBTQ Mentoring Program Seeks Mentors:
