Bring Food Home-Eastern Ontario Local Food Conference

Ontario East Economic Development Commission "Economic Developer of the Year" Announced at the Ontario East Municipal Conference in Kingston

The Ontario East Economic Development Commission (OEEDC) recognized Ann Weir, Economic Development Manager for the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville as the "BDC Ontario East Economic Developer of the Year" at the Opening Ceremony of the Ontario East Municipal Conference in Kingston, Ontario.
The BDC Ontario East Economic Developer of the Year Award is awarded annually to an economic developer based in eastern Ontario who has provided exceptional performance in his or her community and contributed to the advancement of the economic development profession.
Smiths Falls New Brand Wins National Award

The Town of Smiths Falls launched their new brand identity in June 2017 and recently received National recognition from the Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC) on September 12, 2017 in Niagara Falls. The National Marketing Awards are presented to communities across Canada in a number of categories including Brand Identity.

In 1945, G.H. Wills began with two small trucks owned by a hard-working, community-oriented family. The business was created to ship items in and around Smiths Falls and surrounding communities, quickly building a reputation for excellence, efficiency and affordability.
