UBCM Supports Report on the Opioid Crisis
The UBCM Executive has expressed support for the Federation of Canadian Municipalities' report, Recommendations of the Mayors' Task Force on the Opioid Crisis. The report calls on the federal government to urgently adopt a comprehensive, pan-Canadian action plan with the goal of eliminating opioid overdose and overdose death in Canada. Read more

Federal Gas Tax Fund Community Works Payments
The first of two Community Works Fund payments for 2017/18 will be distributed to BC local governments over the next 30 days. Included in this payment is a one-time federal legacy infrastructure funding payment, which was committed by the Government of Canada in Budget 2016.
