2017 Tails of the Painted Cats

The 2017 Tails of the Painted Cats Gala Dinner and Auction was held last Saturday night at Pinehurst Country Club.  This was truly an amazing night for everyone, and especially for our shelter cats!

Early estimates of the numbers are around $104,000, but we are still analyzing the data.  We expect to have final totals next week.

We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to all bidders, and to everyone who attended the dinner.  Your support made this night a terrific success!  A special thank you to our Master of Ceremonies, Ernie Bjorkman, our auctioneer, Doug Tisdale, and all of our wonderful volunteers who dedicated their time to make this a fantastic event!

News from the Shelter
Our team rescue effort to bring cats displaced by hurricane Harvey to Denver is still progressing.  Cat Care Society is working with Best Friends Animal Society to  transport 10 to 12 cats from crowded Texas shelters to our shelter and to other local shelters as well.  Several of our volunteers and staff are assisting in the rescue effort which is planned for sometime in the next few weeks.  The delay is to ensure that as many cats as possible can be matched with their owners.

CCS would like to extend a big thank you to Dr. Elsey for his generous contributions of clumping cat litter.  Dr. Elsey donates large quantities of this high quality litter every six months and it is much appreciated!

We would also like to thank our wonderful supporter Diane Fox who has set up an amazing recurring donation of 4 cases of cat food to be delivered to CCS every 8 weeks.

CCS is able to fulfill out mission better because of people like these.  Thank you both again for your support!

Sweet Ralphie, who was an office cat before he came to Cat Care Society, has recently joined Maxx in the Clinic at Cat Care.  They are becoming fast friends, and seem to enjoy the activity of the clinic waiting room and serving as head cats in the clinic office .  Be sure to greet them both when you are there!

September Adoption Promotion

Our Tails of the Painted Cats Gala Dinner and Auction was a huge success!   Everyone who attended seemed to have a wonderful time and the cats will benefit greatly from this fundraiser.  The other good news is that you can still adopt a live painted cat for your own home all through the month of September.  We have an adoption special on all multi-colored cats (two or more colors and must be 7 months or older).  We have a number of "painted" kitties, so please stop by the shelter soon and see if your special friend is there!

Please visit our Facebook page for more information.

Visit our website to view all our cats available for adoption.

Note: our standard adoption  screening process applies to this promotion. Further, for cats age ten and older and cats with chronic medical problems we offer our Perpet-U-Care Program which provides
$250 of veterinary care services at the CCS Cat Clinic annually.

Opt to Adopt Peanut
Peanut is a sweet 5 month old boy who is ready for his forever home!  Peanut has been with CCS for his entire life.  His mom Peyton gave birth to him in one of our foster homes on April 5th, along with his sister Pistachio.  He stayed in his foster  home until he was 8 weeks old, when he was old enough to be neutered.  About 2 weeks before his neuter he went out to an event, and soon after we found that he had developed ringworm.  He was in quarantine for 6 weeks while his ringworm was treated, and then he was allowed to come out.  Since then he has been living happily in our hallway, making friends with all of the other cats.  He loves to play, and he really enjoys running on our large exercise wheel.    Peanut is an active friendly boy who would do well in a home with other cats to play with.  Come in and meet Peanut today, he might be the perfect cat for you!

Meet the Cats living in the Orange Room
at
Cat Care Society!

All of the cats living in the Orange Room are very congenial roommates, and have one thing in common....they all have kidney disease.  To help manage this condition, they eat a special food and all seem to be doing well on the diet.  Because we test all cats upon intake, we are able to diagnose this condition right away.
Morgan is a senior, and a sweet little lady. Lindy loves to cuddle, and was a showcat in his younger days!  Valentina was a stray and is a very loving female kitty.   Monet is a quiet type, and you'll find her in a sunny window most of the time.   Senior kitty Xena was also homeless, and is recovering nicely from injuries incurred on the streets.  These cats are all coping well with their challenges with dedicated care from our staff.  Please stop in and see them.

Santa Paws Festival 2017

The Santa Paws Festival is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever!   We are still looking for more hand crafted items for our Holiday Market, and many contributors are busy with their crafts already.  All things cat related are popular, as are ornaments and holiday gifts.  If you are donating a craft item, please aim for a $10 to $100 price point.   We also are planning a large Baked Goods Sale and are asking for volunteers to bake their specialties to benefit the cats.  In October we will put out guidelines for the baked items.

If you are interested in donating your craft items or have questions, please contact Amy Martin or Dana Gengenbach. Please  Click Here to email Amy and Click Here to email Dana.
