Letter from the Principal
Dear Saint Theresa School Families,

In the past two weeks the students have enjoyed two wonderful events that have become fall traditions here at St. Theresa School. First, on October 16th we had a spectacular day for the annual Walk-A-Thon. Our thanks to Mrs. Susan Turotsy for arranging such a great event. We will share the tally of funds very soon as we are still collecting pledges. My gratitude to everyone who volunteered to help, especially Mrs. Adriana Nunes, her uncle Roger and Ms. Joann Quinde, as well as everyone who participated to make this event a successful fundraiser.

This past Saturday, St. Theresa students had a great time at the Halloween party. Thanks to the hard work and supervision of Mrs. Sue Ennis, this was a fun, well organized and very successful activity that everyone in attendance enjoyed.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the families who responded so generously this year to our teachers' "wish lists." All of your contributions are very much appreciated. I thank you for your support and partnership.

As we look forward to November, I am excited about the International Night that is planned for Saturday, November 5th. Please make every effort to be part of this fantastic event that celebrates the cultural diversity of the Saint Theresa School community.

I wish you a happy and safe Halloween!

Students visit the past and the future at CT Science Center
Grades 5-8 explored the CT Science Center last Thursday each focused on their knowledge scavenger hunt and specific units for their science classes.  The highlight was the Leonardo da Vinci exhibit.  The students were amazed to see the drawings and models of his creations from the Renaissance. Several of which we use today in one form or another. Our thanks to all of the chaperones who took the day to spend with us. :)

Trumbull Rotary Club Presents Dictionaries to Third Grade
The third grade was delighted to receive dictionaries f rom Mr. Hodson and Mrs. Stratton of the Trumbull Rotary Club . The students went right to work looking up words and finding the maps and other useful sections in the back of the dictionaries.  Our thanks to the Trumbull Rotary Club for partnering with St. Theresa's throughout the years.

After School Ghouls - Poetry and Art
Vampire by Teaghan Gr 2
The After School program challenged the students to write a Halloween poem or draw a Halloween monster.

My Halloween Poem
By Peyton Beardsworth Gr 3

Yell, scream out loud,
Anything can happen in this Haunted House,

Ghosts, Zombies yell out loud,
Anything can happen in this Haunted House,

Run, hide yell out loud,
Anything can happen in this Haunted House,

Well, we had some fun,
It's now the rising of the sun.

Halloween is lots of fun
Spooky fun for everyone!
Pumpkins, monsters, ghouls, and ghosts
Other things that fright the most!
Walking in a pitch black night
Getting candy what a delight!
Monsters, owls, and black cats
Halloween's the time for that!

Monsters by Amari Gr 1, Jeffrey Gr K and Jordan Gr 2
Untitled
by Mason Beardsworth Gr 4

Halloween is fun, it can be a pun
I wish you can get toys, because Halloween is only for boys,
On Halloween you wear costumes, and you get to see opossums.
Halloween is funny, you can dress up as a bunny,
Halloween is next Monday and  I am done with Sunday.
Tech Talk
The middle school is just completing their unit on Digital Citizenship.  In this feature the 7th grade will be sharing D.C. vocabulary and the 8th grade will share their marketing campaigns to increase D.C. awareness.
