2nd Annual Ride for Gene to Stop Hit and Runs Community Fun Day & 5K Challenge
Bring the entire family to our event. Just An Accident Stop Hit and Runs is dedicated to providing a positive and safe environment for businesses, families, residents, and others in the community to enjoy a fun day of activities, which will end with a remembrance ride in celebration of the life of Eugene Green. FVDD Annual Statewide Conference  
This all-day conference will include breakfast and lunch, and the theme will be "Empowering You to Be the Best Advocate Possible." The program is open to the general public, although CLEs will be offered to attorneys who attend. We will have a variety of superb speakers -- including a morning town hall meeting of legislators, and other professionals, including self-advocates, who will be there to train attendees in advocacy skills, legislative updates, etc.

Digital Divide Program: FREE Tablet
Broward Municipal Services District is partnering with T-Mobile to close the digital divide and empower its residents by connecting families and students that don't currently have internet connectivity at home. Eligible BMSD residents with a valid Broward County Library Card will be able to check out a tablet for free from the African-American Research Library & Cultural Center -- potentially for up to six months. One tablet per household.

SafetyNet Tracking System
This program is open to eligible individuals residing within the city of Fort Lauderdale. This program provides the capability to locate missing persons that suffer from any type of cognitive condition and may have the tendency to wander from the safety of their own homes. Transmitters are now available directly from the department for those community members susceptible to these conditions. First come, first serve as there are only limited devices available.
