With the U.S. Labor Day holiday now in the rearview mirror and the unofficial end of summer travels upon us, I cannot help but reflect on my favorite quote from U.S. historian Miriam Beard:
"Travel is more than seeing of sights, it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living."
That quote has always resonated with me. My best, most creative ideas always come to me when I am away from my daily routine and can view things from a different perspective. On other hand, by the end of my summer travels, I always look forward to returning to the weekly routine that September brings and, for those of us who live in New England, the beautiful fall foliage.
I hope you enjoyed some time off this summer and are also anticipating the impending change of seasons.
