Letter from the Chapter President
Dear ASID Members;
I'm so excited to be your ASID California Central / Nevada Chapter President for the 2016/17 fiscal year.
My focus, as your president, is to grow participation at Chapter events.
We have several great events planned throughout the coming year, so don't miss out on the opportunity to participate as a practitioner, industry partner, or sponsor.
Being part of a professional organization is much more than networking; it's a way to give back to the design community, and in return surround yourself with a group of people that share common goals. Great things happen when we work together toward a common good, and it's thrilling to be part of ASID.
I challenge you to show up, and see with your own eyes what ASID can do for you and your business. I hope to engage with as many of you as possible in the coming year. We'd love to see you at our Industry Partner Market Tour and ANDYZ Kick off event in Las Vegas in January. Join us as one of the featured designers at our Date with a Designer Day Event, in Sacramento in February; plus, the ANDYZ Awards will begin accepting entries in April. I hope many of you are already searching your portfolios for those award winning spaces. We'd love for you to be able to
add "Award Winning" to your bio, and be a part of the ANDYZ Celebration at Summer Market.
Let's work together to make this next year a successful year. I look forward to seeing each of your smiling faces at our events!

SACRAMENTO- DATE WITH A DESIGNER EVENT
Sacramento's most prestigious designers, to volunteer four hours of your time and meet with four potential clients, to consult with them on their design dilemma.
- Promote yourself as an exclusive ASID Designer
- Featured in articles circulated by Gary Brown Enterprises for the Home and Landscape Expo (January 27-29 at Cal-Expo in their print, air and web advertising)
- Chance to land new clients
- Meet with four clients scheduled by the ASID Date With A Designer Committee in 45 minute time slots.
- Pre-screened and matched to your niche market and expertise.
- Expose the public to the importance of hiring an ASID designer
- Biography and image circulated at Home and Landscape Expo
HOW IT WORKS:
ASID CA\NV will promote "Don't Let Your DIY Remodel Become - OMG I need help!" Date with a Designer" at the Sacramento Home and Landscape Expo on January 27-29, on our website, and in social media.
ASIDCANV will take appointments for 45 minute consultations with our designer volunteers.
Clients will receive a design questionnaire and instructions to measure and photograph their space before the appointment, so that you will know who they are and what they need help with. Designers will meet with the clients on February 4th at our Date with a Designer Event.
*We need you to commit to be one of ten exclusive designers for this event so your headshot and bio can be included in the marketing material*

The next ASID Partner Spotlight will be with Benjamin Moore on November 2 at 12 p.m. PDT. Join us for Color Trends 2017, a webinar about the concepts and inspiration behind the latest color trends and the Benjamin Moore color of the year.
The Benjamin Moore Co. is committed to the vision of its founder, Benjamin Moore, when he started his paint company in 1883: produce the highest-quality paints and finishes in the industry, and deliver them directly to customers through a nationwide network of knowledgeable, customer-friendly, independent retail locations.
Our presenter, Andrea Magno, Allied ASID, is a color & design expert for Benjamin Moore and plays an integral role in the development of color tools and color and design research that positions Benjamin Moore as a color and product leader for both professionals and consumers. During her tenure at Benjamin Moore, Andrea has played a role in the development and advancement of designer and architect-focused events, educational programs, and trend research. She serves as a reference on color and design inspiration for a variety of publications, including Apartment Therapy, Better Homes, Chicago Tribune, Country Living, Durability & Design, Family Circle, HGTV Magazine, Refinery29, Real Simple, The Wall Street Journal, and USA Today.
Held on the first Wednesday of each month at 3 p.m. ET (12 pm Pacific Time), Partner Spotlight provides a monthly 30-minute forum for designers to engage with ASID Industry Partners, manufacturers, and experts on new trends, product launches, and more. The webinar series does not provide CEUs, but allows members to learn about new and differentiated products and tools to support specification.
