Homework 101
Dr. Dan Peters Co-Founder & Executive Director
by Dr. Dan Peters

"Why do I need to do more work after I have been at school all day?"

"I never get any free time! I have school all day then homework when I get home!"

"Why do we have to do the same thing over and over when I already know it?"

Do these questions and pleas sound familiar?

I am guessing they do!  Many parents don't remember having the amount of homework our children have today, and most do not remember homework starting in kindergarten! Homework has been become a regular parenting topic in my practice, and a primary cause of family arguments and stress.

Dr. Marilyn Paul
Dr. Dan interviews Dr. Marilyn Paul,
author, parent, and well-being expert, in the latest episode of the Parent Footprint Podcast. Listen as Dr. Dan and Dr. Paul talk about how we are passing these connected 24/7 habits on to our children. Dr. Paul encourages us to make small changes to make big life changes - such as spending meaningful time in nature or attending a family dinner. Taking a day of rest is a gift we can give ourselves and our children. Listeners will learn that there are practical strategies for creating their own modern-day "Sabbath" or day of rest, whatever their religious beliefs. Scheduled rest time is life-affirming and can create an oasis for both parent and family.
