The Celtic Classic is a celebration of Celtic culture and heritage promoting and preserving the heritage of Irish, Scottish, and Welsh cultures. It is presented on Historic Bethlehem's festival grounds, along the Monocacy Creek.

Program Highlights
MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 18
 
6:00 - 7:00 pm: Lehigh Valley Arts Salon 
Host: Bill Dautremont-Smith, George Miller & Kate Scuffle
   
In the first of  tonight's double edition of Lehigh Valley Arts Salon, t he topic is homebrewed craft beer. More specifically, discussion will center on the "Crustless PB&J on Wheat," the witbier which was selected as the winning brew at WDIY's 2nd Annual Homebrew Fest in July. Host Bill Dautremont-Smith will be talking with the winning homebrewer John Litak and owner/brewmaster Sam Masotto of Bonn Place brewpub, where the winning brew has just been produced on a commercial scale.

They will discuss the process of brewing this rather different beer, why it was selected as this year's winner, where you can taste it, and more. The witbier from the scaled-up brewing at Bonn Place is now available, and we'll compare it to the original winning homebrew.
 
Then, it's the rescheduled preview of Celtic Classic 2017. Hosts George Miller and Kate Scuffle talk with Marcie Mulligan, the Cultural Outreach Coordinator for the Celtic Cultural Alliance about what's in store for this year's Festival and Highland Games in Bethlehem.  
 
7:00 - 9:00 pm: Folk Classics

The theme for this program is "Folk Classics By The Numbers."  The program will begin with a soloist, and work itself through duets, trios, quartets, and beyond!  Odetta, Bud and Travis, The Chad Mitchell Trio, and The Brothers Four will be among the featured artists.
  
 
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 19

The Lehigh Valley's eclectic six-piece band This Way to the Egress has a new CD set for release this  coming Friday. Host Bill Dautremont-Smith will be joined in the studio by band members Taylor Galassi and Sarah Shown to talk about the band and the new album, "Onward! Up a Frightening Creek." There will be a preview of a few of the tracks.

John Pearce discusses the work of the Nurture Nature Center in Easton with Executive Director Rachel Hogan Carr and Science Director Dr. Kathryn Semmens.

Founded in 2007 after massive and repeated flooding of the Delaware River Basin, the Nurture Nature Center's work with flooding remains as timely as ever. The Center has since established itself as a national leader in flood education along with offering a variety of science and art-based programming for the general public.
