After the wrath of Hurricane Irma, the Caribbean islands are facing more storms - and no one knows what the outcome will be. 

What we do know is that l arge sections of the yacht charter and hospitality businesses are helping recently-ravaged Caribbean communities get back on track. 

While many hotels have been traumatized, there are plenty of boats that were kept in safe harbor during the storm.

In fact, reports are coming in that yacht charters reservations are up as hotels and villas have had to cancel reservations.

Ski and Sail Norway Aboard Your Own Floating Chalet: the S/Y FIREBIRD

The sailing yacht FIREBIRD offers a luxury "ski chalet" experience at sea, with the bonus of delivering guests to the foot of a different mountain each day. Starting from Tromsø harbor, there is adventure-filled skiing and sailing, cruising a number of remote northern islands. 
 
Firebird is set up to accommodate seven guests across four cabins in exceptional comfort consisting of three double ensuite cabins and a fourth single cabin with its own ensuite facilities to sleep 7 guests in complete luxury.

Understanding Charter Rates

Charter rates are based on 7nights/8days. The charter fee generally only covers the rental of the yacht and its crew.

Plus expenses  means an Applied Provisioning Allowance (APA) is charged in advance then reconciled at the end of the charter. It's an additional fee which covers extras such as food, drink, fuel, berthing costs, customs, communications, etc. The APA is the standard system to pay your expenses on a luxury yacht charter. The average APA is 35% of the yacht charter fee.

Crew gratuity is at client discretion; 15% is customary. 

Charter rates are subject to change without notice.
