Dear Lakeside Community,
Happy Friday!
Next Saturday, October 29th, is the
Harvest Festival from 12 - 4 pm. We'll have local craft vendors, fun and games for your kids, and end the day with trick-or-treating from vendors at 3:30PM.We're looking forward to having a GREAT time with our community members; come and enjoy the Fall Harvest fun!
There will be a Chili Cook-off and a Bake-off competition! There will be prizes for first and second-place winners, as well as lots of savory deliciousness to sample. If you are competing: Please register for FREE by Sunday, October 23rd. (Registrations after 10/23 are $25 for late entries.)
Please arrive thirty minutes before the cook-off and bake-off, at 11:30AM, to set up your table and food. More information is available on our sign up sheet, or feel free to email Desiree.
Want to Volunteer? Even just help out for an hour?! Awesome! We're using SignUp for volunteers: http://signup.com/go/7LxuCD
A few key reminders...one more time. School starts at 8:20 am when the bell rings, but
we take attendance when flag salute begins. If your child arrives late, s/he will be asked to go to the office to get a late slip. Please remind your child that we are respectful during the flag salute and we do not walk.
Thanksgiving is coming up quickly. If you know of a Lakeside family that could use some support for Thanksgiving in the form of food and other contributions, please let me know. PTA wants to help support families in need. Please feel free to let us know if you, personally, need that help too!
Counseling reminder - we do have a counselor who is here approximately 10 hours a week to support our students. She is able to see individual students for approximately 6-8 sessions. The permission slips and information are in the front office in the files under C for Counselor. Mia Paley-Williams does have a wait list right now, but will have openings in the next month or so.
Final call for the Spelling Bee, that will be led by yours truly at lunch the first week in November. This is a lead into the county competition and is only open to 4th and 5th graders. Please email me
here if you'd like your child to compete.
Warmly,
Dr. Lisa Gonzales
