Community Impact in PA

Service to the Armed Forces
United Way of Lebanon County

Part of United Way of Lebanon County's community impact involves safety net programs to help the community with various services.  With access to healthy food, a safe place to live, and crises services, people will feel supported by their community and motivated to better their own quality of life.
One United Way of Lebanon County program, Service to the Armed Forces, was established to provide active duty and veteran military members and their families with services to communicate emergencies efficiently, referrals to partner agencies who can provide resources to alleviate crises, and educational workshops to help with reconnection and re-assimilation into civilian life.  The United Way of Lebanon County partners with the American Red Cross and contributes funding for this program.

It is important to help veterans and their families smoothly transition back into civilian life and this program supports that transition and ensures veterans and their families feel a part of the community.

United Way's Board Members
Make a Difference!

Robert Hugo
United Way of Bradford County
 Board President

Robert Hugo, Bob, is the current United Way of Bradford County Board President and has held the position since 2004.

Bob has dedicated 23 years to serving his local United Way in various roles, including Campaign Chair, Vice President of Fundraising, and Vice President of Allocations.

In addition to serving on multiple United Way of Bradford County committees, Bob has devoted countless hours to achieving their mission of improving the lives of Bradford County residents.

Bob got involved with United Way just out of college, while working in his father's insurance business.  Bob's friend was on the Board and asked him to get involved.  Bob said he joined for two reasons.  The first was to get to know more people.  The second was to do something that benefited the community.

Bob says being a Board President allows him to stay involved and know what is going on in the community.  He has dedicated so many years to United Way because of the help he is able to give with the time he has available and the impact he is having on the community.  Additionally, through his work in the allocation process, Bob was able to truly understand the issues facing the community and it gave him the understanding and appreciation of what United Way's partner agencies are doing to help address the problems.

For those who may be thinking of getting involved in the community, Bob said there is no better place to do so than United Way.  With United Way you have the opportunity to get involved in the understanding of the problems facing your community and can participate in helping to decide how to solve those problems.

Thank you Bob for dedicating so many years to United Way!
