- Sarah Park Dahlen (MS '09, PhD '09), professor i St. Kate's MLIS program, is the recipient of the University of Illinois iSchool Leadership Award, which is given to an alum who has graduated in the past ten years and shown leadership in the field.

- During the first annual Indie Author Day on Oct 8, 2016,
libraries from all over North America will host their own local author events with the support of the Indie Author Day team. In addition to these local programs, each library's indie community will come together for an hour-long digital gathering at 2 pm ET featuring Q&A with writers, agents and other industry leaders.
