As the holiday season approaches, Santa & Mrs. Claus arrive in the most fitting way for this seaport town... by US Coast Guard boat! Welcome Santa on the Sunday after Thanksgiving as he and Mrs. Claus dock at the boardwalk and begin to parade through downtown Newburyport, then gather in Market Square for the annual Christmas tree lighting and carols.

We are happy to welcome our new artists:

Jennifer Moran, from Grannies Gunnies, makes shoulder bags, backpacks and market bags out of upholstery fabric. Kathy Angel Lee is a texture and fiber artist who frames her quilted scenes. She makes them in all sizes including mini's. She also makes fabric cards with sayings on them. Lynn Holaday is a felt artist who makes colorful 5x5 blocks with scenes of cats, dogs and more with sayings on them. Don McDonald makes inlaid boxes and framed artwork from exotic woods.  Besides her mittens, Susan Talhouk embroiders NBPT on down filled accent pillows. We are also expecting more jewelry artists in the next few weeks.

RiverWalk Brewing Co. is releasing their Storm Door Porter (formerly Winter Porter) on Thursday, November 3rd. Storm Door Porter uses the same popular recipe with vanilla and cinnamon spice, now conveniently packaged in a 4-pack of 16oz. cans.

Founder Steve Sanderson explains the name change, "People were asking for this beer beyond the traditional holiday release season. So our goal was to develop a name that projected year-round availability. What the people want, the people shall have."

The name change also transitions well from their popular Screen Door, a lighter
summer ale. Sanderson adds, "Storm Door represents the changing of seasons,
something we love about New England. When the Storm Door goes on, it's time for a
heartier beer that stands up to the elements, one that warms you from the inside out."
A release party at the brewery is planned for Saturday, November 5th from 12-6pm.
