Be an Ambassador at Teen Lit Con
Help make a great day for teens
TLC 2016 poster Teen Lit Con brings teens together with their current and future favorite authors. 2016 has more than 10 authors participating: Neal Shusterman, Faith Erin Hicks, Jason Reynolds, Leigh Bardugo, John Coy, Monica Ropal, Pete Hautman, Dawn Klehr, Derek Sullivan, S. A. Bodeen, Julie Schumacher, E. Eero Johnson and Kirstin Cronn-Mills.

The event features author panels, keynotes, writing workshops, breakout sessions and an exhibit hall with book sales, book signings, and other book related cool stuff to do.  We're expecting 1200 attendees & need your help to make everything run like clockwork. Ambassador Duties: Ambassadors will help out in the auditorium, as breakout session moderators and in the exhibit hall with activities trivia wheel and book signing.

Ambassador Perks: Each ambassador will receive an awesome Teen Lit Con t-shirt & sportsack as well as access to the Ambassadors Lounge!
Other Ambassador info:
  • Feel free to sign up for more than one shift
  • Adults only, please, we want teens to experience the full event
  • Plan for some flexibility in shifts. Times may vary slightly depending on your assignment

  • Save the Date: Better Together - Strengthening Adult Learning Communities - Libraries, Adult Education and Workforce Regional Meetings. Join colleagues from adult education, libraries, & workforce development for a full-day learning opportunity. The workshops are designed to increase our collective capacity to work together to improve adult literacy and workforce outcomes for Minnesotans.
    • April 29, 2016 - Roseville at Minnesota Department of Education
    • May 9, 2016 - Mankato at Country Inn and Suites
    • May 16, 2016 - Grand Rapids at Saw Mill Inn

pencil holder Minneapolis Young Writers Workshop connects motivated young writers ages 13-19 with best-selling authors who are gifted with the ability to write and teach. There will beevening keynotes by members of the author faculty. These are free & open to the public of all ages, but you must register on-line for a spot as seating will be limited. The event is June 14-16 at North Central University in Minneapolis. More details here.

 

Library Legislative Day is Apr 12 & 13. There is a briefing at Roseville Library on Apr 12. Visits take place Apr 13. More information & registration.
