CBIA Secures Favorable Settlement on AB 1701
CBIA reported that although Governor Brown signed AB 1701 into law, they persuaded both the Governor and the bill's author to commit to striking the provision on penalties and liquidated damages out of the bill. This commitment came in the form of a letter from the bill's author, a mention of it in the Governor's signing message, and an additional letter from the trades.
This is an extremely positive development, so thank you to our partners at CBIA. And thank you to the many BIA members who took the time to contact their legislators to express their concerns over AB 1701.
