SportFest 2016 was held on September 17th, 2016 at the Servus Sports Centre.   Approximately 1300 people were in attendance at this one day event showcasing all kinds of Sport, Recreation, Fitness, Health, Physical Literacy and more!

Awards for Achievements in 2016
As we near the end of 2016, the Lethbridge Sport Council is preparing to recognize the outstanding achievments of local athletes in 2016.   Nominations will open November 1st, 2016, and will close January 31st, 2017.  Categories include:  Athletic Performance (junior, senior, master, athlete with a disability, Special Olympic, team and partner), Sport Excellence(coaching, officiating, volunteering), Leadership (individual and organization), Spirit in Sport (youth and adult), Corporate (business and sport)
NCCP Module - Prevention and Recovery
Lethbridge Sport Council will be hosting this NCCP Module on Saturday October 15th, 2016 (9:00 - 5:00) in the Community Room at Nicholas Sheran Ice Centre.  To register, please log on to "The Locker".
Roving Gyms in Lethbridge
"Roving Gyms" offer a free indoor play space for parents and caregivers of preschool aged children.  This program will encourage physical literacy, allow families to connect with other families, while children to have a great time playing!  Visit the LEYC website for schedule and sign up information

Congratulations to the Library!
Perhaps you've heard of the loan-able sports and fitness collection at the Lethbridge Public Libarary?  The Lethbridge Sport Council is pleased to be a partner in this physical literacy project, and is looking forward to seeing this fantastic initiative grow!
Congratulations to the Lethbridge Public Library for being selected as a ChooseWell Healthy Community Award Winner for 2016, for the physical literacy collection project!  The awards ceremony will be held at the ARPA Conference and Energize Workshop in Jasper on October 20th.
How is Technology Shaping the Preschool Brain?
This October 13th event is an opportunity for parents, caregivers, or education professionals to listen to Dr. Kelly Dean Schwartz from the University of Calgary discuss how adults can positively model and shape technology use during early childhood.
