PTSA NEWS
KICK-OFF FAMILY DINNER & PTSA GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING IS 10/3, 6:00 pm - PLEASE RSVP!

Please register today for a family dinner at the first PTSA General Meeting of the year. Dinner is provided free of charge by the PTSA and will be held in the Commons. By registering we can make sure there is enough food for everyone.

Our family dinner is a long standing International School tradition. Parents and students are welcome to attend. It's a great way for all families, especially new families, to meet people and learn more about IS. Register today and help spread the word. See you on October 3rd at 6:00 pm!

COMMUNITY CREATES SUCCESS AT IS

As ISPTSA kicks off our theme for this year, our success depends upon our community supporting the PTSA. From the time that you applied for IS, your student was selected to attend IS, and you accepted. That began your journey to becoming part of the IS community.  Taking off the hat from other schools and putting on International's hat is the next step toward becoming community here. We want to create an IS community that creates success at IS. Your PTSA is committed to helping IS become the school that our community wants and expects and is successful. We need your support by;

  • Becoming a member of our PTSA. 100% goal of membership is a powerful message to the Bellevue community of how we are unique, and how supportive we are of this school.
  • Download DirectorySpot, our online directory, and use it to talk with each other.
  • Donate to our fall fundraising campaign; 100% of your cash donation goes to support student academic programs at IS and teacher development. Our campaign starts October 3rd.
Whether you are a new 6 th grade parent or starting the twilight years at IS for your 12 th grader, you are a part of the IS community and we need your support as a part of ISPTSA.

Help me create this success at IS for the students and the school by being a part of our ISPTSA community.

Meribeth Nordloef-Pedersen
ISPTSA President 2017-2018
HELP US CREATE COMMUNITY WITH PTSA MEMBERSHIP

Our goal this year is 100% Membership in PTSA of our IS community. That means we need 580 PTSA members. How does it work? Simple, we need one member for every student.

Dual membership of $35 supports two students. Single membership of $20 supports one student. ISPTSA has kicked off our new year with almost 200 supportive parents and guardians becoming or renewing their membership with ISPTSA. THANK YOU!

Please remember to renew or become a new PTSA member for 2017-2018 year. You can become a member through this online link or stop by our membership table in the next 2 weeks. We are counting on you to meet our 100% GOAL.
ISPTSA membership will be represented at the following events and dates. We can take cash, credit or check for you to renew or become a ISPTSA member:

September 19th 6:00 pm

September 21st 6:00 pm

Sept 28th 5:30 pm

October 3rd, 5:30 pm

October 5th 6:00 pm

Any questions, please contact Joanie Chang at [email protected]
COMMUNICATE WITH OUR COMMUNITY

The ISPTSA provides an online directory of all families at our school. This is provided through an app called DirectorySpot. This is our second year using this and we are very pleased with the continually updated information we can provide to our IS community.  This app is free of charge and is available to every family at IS whether you are a PTSA member or not.

Please go to our website to get the instructions. For families that are continuing on at IS, all information has been updated. For new families, your updated information will be in DirectorySpot by our October 5th meeting or sooner. We get the information for DirectorySpot from BSD and with the new Synergy system, getting some updated information is taking a bit longer than planned.

Questions on DirectorySpot? Contact Stephanie Winkler-Hadley at [email protected].

DON'T BE A DISTRACTED DRIVER IN THE PARKING LOT
IS is committed to safety in its parking lot, and would like to bring your attention to the new driver distracted law. If people are driving in the parking lot and using the phone with their hands, the law applies. Here is the link from the WA state PTSA about this:
