Walkingstick:  Abadi policy announces negotiations with Europe for the return of Iraqi refugees: They promised a paradise for its existence

Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi said his government was "engaged in lengthy negotiations" with European countries on the return of Iraqi refugees. "We do not want to lose our citizens, I will not support forced returns to Iraq, but I think all Iraqis have found it very difficult to be in Europe as refugees," Abadi told the Associated Press. In 2015 alone, the United Nations indicated that some 80,000 Iraqis had made a trip to Europe by sea, avoiding economic downturns and instability in the face of the progress of the Islamic state group.

Since then, thousands of Iraqis have returned to their homes, many of them with the assistance of the International Organization for Migration (IOM). "They promised paradise there, but in the end this paradise did not exist," Abadi said.
