Victims need our help 

Relief efforts continue in Texas and especially the Houston area following the devastation caused by Hurricane Harvey.  You can help.  Please give if you can to Episcopal Relief & Development or simply place your gift in the offering plate at the Church of the Resurrection.  Please write "Hurricane Harvey" on the memo line of your check or enclose a note with your gift.

The Inquirers Class meets on Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 pm ending on October 17,  to prepare for the sacrament of confirmation and reception,  This class is for all who are interested in learning and re-learning the story of the Episcopal Church, the Anglican tradition and why we do the things we do as Christians in this unique faith tradition.
 
NECESSITY PANTRY INGATHERING TOMORROW
A joint outreach ministry with St. Michael's    
 
The Necessity Pantry at St. Michael's Episcopal Church in Independence needs our contributions of  apples, oranges, Depends L/XL, toothpaste, tooth brushes, bar soap, cereals, and seasonal clothing.
 
Monetary gifts are also gratefully appreciated.   The pantry provides items that are not covered by food stamps or other social service programs.  
Men_s Group MEN'S GROUP MEETING

Attention Resurrection members!!   We need volunteers of all ages to be acolytes, readers, servers and ushers.  Please contact Fr. David if you are interested in serving in one of these ministries.

COMMUNITY SERVICES LEAGUE NEEDS HELP CSL
Volunteers wanted to sort canned goods   
 
During the week of October 2 all Blue Springs schools will be collecting canned goods that will be delivered to the Community Services League (CSL) on Monday, October 9th.
 
CSL is looking for some people with strong muscles to help unload, sort and put the canned goods on their shelves.  The task usually takes CSL a couple of weeks.   If you are interested in volunteering please contact CSL or Annie Scott.  This single event supplies 6 months of CSL's needs to help those in our own community.   Please sign up if you are able and interested.
FINDING FAITH THROUGH FICTION BOOK CLUB

The October meeting of the Finding Faith Through Fiction Book Club will be held at 7 pm on Monday, October 2.  This month's discussion will be on "The Same Sky" by Amanda Eyre Ward.
