Ghost Hunt

Shaping Sound: Dance Reimagined

There will be silent and live auctions, as well as an opportunity to bid for a player or coach to join your table! Pre-event tailgating takes place in The Oncenter parking garage starting at 9:00 am. Get into the "seasonal spirit" by mingling with all-star women entrepreneurs along Warren Street.  The Changing Room  ( map ) and  Vintage Love ( map) will be open into the evening on Thursday, October 27 with sweet treats provided by The Sweet Praxis (expected to open in the Grange Building soon).  Soup 'R Salads, CNY Mode and Ashley Hansen's Beauty Nation is also getting involved. There will be a punch-card visitors may pick up at either location and bring with them on their tour of Warren Street, showing it as "proof" they visited each location. Visitors will then be able to use the punch-card to enter free drawings.

Ephesus Lighting Provides Lighting for its Second NBA Team
Now lighting the home of the Miami Heat
 
Earlier this month, the NBA's Miami Heat took to the court for a preseason game under LED lighting made by Ephesus Lighting in Downtown Syracuse. To date, the Miami Heat joins one other NBA team, the Minnesota Timberwolves, to install Ephesus Lighting's work. Earlier this year, it was announced that Ephesis would light the First Niagara Center in Buffalo, home to the NHL's Buffalo Sabres. Since its start in the Tech Garden in 2011, Ephesus has been tapped to light several other professional sports venues and university sports facilities, but it is arguably best known for lighting the 2015 Super Bowl. Ephesus is currently expanding into the space formerly occupied by Jolime, on the corner of Jefferson and Warren Streets. 
 
Red House Arts Center Hosting Rummage Sale
Proceeds to go toward its move to Downtown Syracuse
 
The Red House Arts Center, currently located on West Street, is preparing for its move to City Center in Downtown Syracuse. To raise funds for the move, the Red House is hosting a rummage sale this Friday and Saturday at the Red House Cafe. The sale features vintage clothing, props and decor used in theatrical productions and costumes. The sale will take place between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm on Friday, October 21 and Saturday October 22. Red House members can get a preview tonight (Thursday, October 20) from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.The Res House Arts Center will move into the new City Center, formerly the Sibley's Department Store on the corner of Salina and Jefferson Streets, as soon as the end of this year.

Barclay Damon, LLP Officially Moves its Headquarters
New home at the corner of Jefferson and Warren Streets (map)
 
Barclay Damon, LLP, moved from One Park Place to the newly-renamed Barclay Damon Tower on Monday. The firm occupies five floors in the 15-story building, formerly known as Onondaga Tower, and the HSBC Tower before that. The building began to wear the Barclay Damon name this summer. 
 
Winter Basketball League
Registration deadline: November 1
 
Horn Companies Court, located at 325 North Clinton Street (map), is hosting a winter basketball league for players of all skill levels. League games (5 vs. 5) are played Sunday through Thursday nights, and run for ten weeks, plus playoffs. The registration deadline is November 1, and leagues start the week of November 13.
