In Macon, GA, thousands of people celebrate native ancestry in Ocmulgee National Monument during the Ocmulgee Indian Celebration each September. This year, more than 20,000 attended educational events and viewed cultural demonstrations led by Native American groups from across the nation.

Agency Updates

The Bureau of Land Management has selected Matthew Allen as Assistant Director for Communications, based in its Washington, D.C., headquarters. Allen was previously spokesman for the Office of the Secretary of Defense and joined the BLM on October 17.
