It's that time of year again, when summer gives way to the crisp temperatures and vivid colors of autumn, bringing about a time of change and transformation. Midland University's Arboretum is a reflection of this transition and I invite you to take a stroll through the campus to enjoy the splendor of the changing leaves.
Midland is also embarking on a season of change. Through the creation of Innovation Teams, Midland faculty and staff members are collaborating on topics that will continually enhance and improve the student experience. A new program added this fall, "The Luther College Honors Program," promotes a more rigorous academic culture on campus for qualified students who desire a more challenging class structure.
As our country embarks on an important change with the upcoming election, Midland has created opportunities for students to engage in dialogue and debate.
Midland hosted a presidential debate event for students on September 26th that included the opportunity for students to speak with state party representatives and encouraged dialogue about the upcoming election. On October 25th,
former Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman and former First Lady Sally Ganem
will speak to students on the obligations of citizens to participate in and uphold a democracy.
Many of the opportunities we are able to provide for our students are due to the generous gifts made by alumni and friends of Midland. Thank you to those who support our students, our mission, our University. Through your philanthropy, Midland University can continue to grow to new levels of excellence.
