OvS Garden Featured in Home & Design Magazine
The fall issue of
Home & Design magazine showcases an OvS-designed
garden in Bethesda, Maryland.
Form + Function, by Sharon Jaffe Dan, explores the intimacy and scale of the
Dynerman Architects home and two-acre site, which features a pool, spa, and multiple terraces. OvS' design
preserves many of the existing trees, while complimentary understory plantings weave through the woodland setting.
While hardscape features are arranged in crisp angles, responding to the house's modern lines, the gardens are fluid - uniting architecture and landscape architecture in a sculptural composition. Throughout the property, multiple areas of active and passive recreation respond to the needs of an active family of eight.

Baltimore Style. More than thirty years ago OvS Founding Principal Jim van Sweden met with the owners of a Baltimore County, Maryland home to begin the transformation of a dynamic, countryside property. The 10-page photospread illustrates how the garden has evolved yet continues to honor
its original design.
