Aviation Emergency/Natural Disaster Complex and Taxiway "M" Project

Groundbreaking ceremonies were held for the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport's Aviation Emergency/Natural Disaster Complex and Taxiway "M" Project on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.  This facility will facilitate emergency personnel and supplies from large military aircraft to loading docks for 18-wheeler distribution for area natural disasters.

A special thank you to Sharon Weston Broome who, as Louisiana State Senator, safe-guarded over $600,000 of Capital Outlay dollars to develop this building at the Aviation Business Park. She has always been a supporter of the Airport.

The Baton Rouge Airport, along with the Aviation Business Park, can attract new companies that require better connectivity. Such developments encourage investments in the retail and hospitality sectors, and all support long-term, sustainable growth with the common output of new jobs, directly and indirectly.
