FSU LAW FOCUS
October 14, 2016
From the Dean
Thank you to all of the alums and students who are engaged with the College of Law on social media! We enjoy sharing good news with you and were thrilled by the response to posts during our recent 50-year anniversary campaign. This week, we are launching another community-wide campaign to celebrate our past, present and future – but one that allows us to focus more on you and that will allow you to show your school spirit! Alums: we will have complimentary #IAmFSULaw t-shirts available for you to pick up tomorrow at our Homecoming tailgate. In addition, we’ll have instructions on how to help us with the campaign. Ultimately, we want you to post photos of yourself wearing your t-shirt and use #IAmFSULaw in your posts. We look forward to seeing your #IAmFSULaw photos on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter!

50-Year Anniversary: 1968

The FSU College of Law entered the State Moot Court arguments for the first time in 1968. The FSU team is now one of the nation’s leading moot court teams. Since 2010 the team has placed first in 11 national competitions and one international competition. 1968-69 also marked the first academic year the law school had full enrollment with 1Ls, 2Ls and 3Ls all in attendance. The number of faculty members increased to 13 and the total number of students was about 350. One of the four new full-time faculty members arriving in 1968 was John Yetter, who retired from FSU Law almost 40 years later in 2007. We also received preliminary accreditation from the ABA in 1968.
