You are invited to Taste of World Compass on November 10, from 6 - 8pm. Come and get a "taste" of all the great things about our school! There will be student project displays and student performances. You will also be able to choose from a variety of sessions: Immersion Spanish, Singapore Math Demonstration, Guided Reading Demonstration, Literacy Centers, Learning Styles, Middle School Sports, and more!
This event is open to WCA families and the community. Help us spread the word to your family and friends! We hope you can attend!

Halloween Celebrations.
On October 31, we will be combining the Halloween celebrations with the Ready Set Give celebration. PTO will be hosting a school dance party as a reward for exceeding our Ready Set Give fundraiser! There will be a costume parade at 2:30pm. Parents are invited to watch the parade outside the school. In case of inclement weather, parents will be invited into the gym.
Students may wear costumes to school on October 31 (no school uniforms are required). Costumes should be appropriate for school. Masks, weapon facsimiles, blood, gore, or costumes which are sexually explicit, reflective of graphic violence, or include references to drugs or alcohol are not allowed. Thanks for your cooperation!

Mommy & Me Class. For the month of November, we will continue to offer Mommy & Me Mandarin Chinese Immersion classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays: November 1, 3, 8, 10, 15, 17 and 29 from 11:30am - 12:15pm at WCA. The content is designed for 2 - 5 year olds. Parents are required to participate along with their child. The cost is $52.50 for the month of November, and the second child will receive a 50% discount. Parents and children under 2 years old are free.

Picture Retakes. Retakes are scheduled for November 2. Please send in the original photos with your child on this day.
WCA Information Sessions. Our next Information Session for parents interested in
sending their child to WCA and wanting to learn more about our school is November 8 from
8:15 - 9:15am at WCA. No RSVP is required. Just show up and bring your driver's license
for check-in.
Join the Cub Scouts! Cub Scout Pack 788 is now accepting new scouts in Kindergarten! Come to their Lion Join Night on November 3. If you have a Kindergartener through Fifth Grader, you are also welcome to join Pack 788. (Please note this is not an official WCA event and it is in no way sponsored by or affiliated with WCA.)

Rachel's Challenge Community Event. We are so excited to share this program that inspires kindness and compassion while empowering our students to influence their community. WCA is hosting a Parent Community Event TONIGHT at 6:30pm. The event is recommended for 7th grade and up (age is at the discretion of parents.) We are inviting all in our community to join us!
Box Tops Contest. Drum roll please! Here are the current standings: PreK: 89, K: 952,
1st: 1,205, 2nd: 812, 3rd: 260, 4th: 1,455, 5th: 558, and 6th: 297. Now for the really big news...
we have already raised $768.50 since the beginning of the school year! Can we hit $1,000 by October 25? Why yes, yes we can!

Teacher Appreciation Breakfast. It's time again for another monthly breakfast!
FIFTH GRADE will be hosting this month's fall themed breakfast on October 28 for the teachers and staff of WCA. If you're a parent of a fifth grade student and would like to show
your appreciation, please consider signing up to donate an item. All items need to be brought
to school by 7:00am on Friday, October 28. Thank you so much for considering this as a great way to say "Thanks!"
PTO Spirit Night. Spirit Night at Papa Murphy's on November 2 (all day), located at
62 Founders Parkway (next to King Soopers). Please mention WCA! (This is NOT a Spirit
Wear Day.)
Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students). We had a successful Pizza Night Launch Event for the Watch D.O.G.S. program. 30 WCA dads attended the pizza night and 17 more were not able to attend, but have signed up to join the program.
Principal Howard has challenged our Watch D.O.G.S. to a three fold goal:
Tier 1: Have a Watch D.O.G.S. dad in school ONE day per MONTH.
Tier 2: Have a Watch
D.O.G.S. dad in school ONE day per WEEK.
Tier 3: Have at least one Watch
D.O.G.S. dad in school EVERY DAY.
We are just ONE sign-up short of meeting our Tier 1 Challenge! We have at least one Watch D.O.G.S. dad signed up to volunteer each month through the end of the school year, except MAY!
