a weekly update from the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce
THIS WEEK AT THE CHAMBER
Great news for small businesses this week. California received a federal grant to help small businesses grow their trade and export efforts abroad. The grant, awarded to 44 states is part of the U.S. Small Business Administration's State Trade Expansion Program.  Click here for more information.

Our Chamber members are making the news with their contributions to Silicon Valley. Read about Blach Construction,  LeEco and Southwest Airlines in the Members in Action section below. Bravo Zulu to them both!

There's still time to be part of the SJSV Chamber's newest initiative, Silicon Valley IDEA. Our inaugural IDEA Summit takes place on Tuesday, Oct. 25 Summit at Microsoft SV.  Click here to read more and RSVP.

We have seen a great participation rate in our 2016 Annual Member survey so far and hope you will take 10 minutes to participate as well. Your feedback and insight is an integral part of our planning process for 2017. The survey should have reached your inbox earlier this week. If not, email me and we will resend it to you.

Lastly, we have our last Business Walk of 2016 coming up next week on Wednesday, Oct. 26. This is a great opportunity to be out in the business community - this time the West San Carlos corridor. You can participate by volunteering for the day, being a sponsor of the event or by providing branded swag for the goodie bags we leave behind at all the businesses we visit. Click here to learn more and register.

And as always, stay on top of our day-to-day activities by following us on social media , bookmarking our website and coming out to our monthly events .
