This six-week series will meet once a week. The class will provide parents of children with special health and behavioral needs an opportunity to network with other parents and gain knowledge on available resources along with a plethora of other tools to add to their caregiving toolbox.

SEEKING ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBERS
For the Iowa Peer Support and Family Peer Support Training Program
The University of Iowa received the Iowa Peer Support and Family Peer Support Training Program contract from the Iowa Department of Human Services to provide recommendations for comprehensive training and certification for Iowa's Peer Support and Family Peer Support workforce. An advisory committee was established for each; Peer Support Advisory Committee and Family Peer Support Advisory Committee. Advisory committee terms are for one year.  If you are interested in learning more, click here. Also, make sure to read the committee guidelines.

COPING IN PARENTS OF CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES SURVEY
From Jon. R. Webb, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist at East Tennessee State University
This project is designed to investigate relationships between positive psychology, health related attitudes and practices, coping, and demographic variables (age, gender, etc.). Your completion of this questionnaire is completely voluntary. The length of time expected to complete this questionnaire is about 45 minutes. You may skip any questions that make you feel uncomfortable and you may end your participation at anytime without consequence. Click here to take the survey.

These videos were produced collaboratively by Juliann Woods with Family Guided Routines Based Intervention and the Distance Mentoring Model at Florida State University, Cindy Weigel and Melissa Schnurr from the Iowa Department of Education, videographer Larry Edelman, and, most importantly, families and Early ACCESS providers in Iowa.

The Epilepsy Foundation's camPossible
Seven Day/Six Night Camp for Youth with Epilepsy
The Epilepsy Foundation's camPossible! is a 7 day/6 night camp for youth with epilepsy held at Camp Liberty in New Liberty, Iowa. From August 8 - 14, 2016 , children and teenagers aged 9 - 17 will engage in activities such as archery, swimming, zip-line, arts and crafts, canoeing, & theater. The camp is staffed by counselors from the host camp and Epilepsy Foundation along with volunteers from the medical, social service and epilepsy community. On-site nurses, low camper-to-counselor ratio and staff trained in seizure recognition, first aid and the special needs of children with epilepsy will ensure a safe environment. Learn more
