October-December

Earlier this week, a young woman who is a victim of sexual exploitation called me. "Broken" was the word she used to describe her emotional state from repeated rapes & sexual assaults. She was "at the end of her rope" from trying everything she could to find safe housing and a program like ours but found nothing but dead ends. I spent almost an entire day helping her search for a place that had room but could find none. It was so disheartening.

Just last week, I read an article citing the well known reasons for this: a severe lack of long term housing options and comprehensive support programs in the U.S. for victims of sex trafficking. Also noted was the fact that there is very little government funding for such homes, adding to the already daunting and difficult process which so few are willing to undertake.

For nearly 3 years, where most others refuse to step out, our team has been tirelessly laying the foundation to provide for this very need. I can testify to the fact that it is an extremely difficult and long process. With no assistance from the government, much of our time must be spent raising funds through private means rather than actually providing the service this is so desperately needed.

But, we have persisted, refused to give up, and we are finally at turning point. This quarter we will finally begin our home search! And shortly after that, begin hiring new staff for our program.

If you have been on the fence about whether or not to partner with Redeeming Love, there is no better time like today. It is only through the generosity of our partners that we can help to provide the safety and resources that so many victims of trafficking need. We could not do this without YOU!
