Used Uniform Sale Update
Thank you for your donations to the Used Uniform Sale!  Currently we do not have enough winter items to warrant holding a Cold Weather Sale, so look for used winter, spring, and fall items at the Used Uniform Sale at the end of the school year. New items may still be purchased in the Rocket Shop.  Meanwhile, the bin will remain in the office throughout the year to collect any used items that still meet the dress code.  (Please do not donate articles with individual names on them as they will not resell.)

Stop.Think.Connect.
So far this month we have highlighted the following day to day aspects of being cyber aware:
  1.     How to avoid downloading malware.
  2.    How to handle unsolicited calls from "tech support" groups".
  3.    How to safely connect to Wi-Fi when I'm on the go.
Parents, this is probably one of the most important things you can do for your children.  It is never too late to have this discussion with your teenager or any younger child in your home.  They can never hear it too many times!  Take a few minutes to review this video and put it into action.

Respect Life Month
October is a month set aside by the U.S. bishops as a special time
in which we emphasize our Church's commitment to the sanctity   of  life from conception to natural death. It will once again be marked as a time for prayer and action, and the theme for this year --in keeping with the  Jubilee Year of Mercy  that Pope Francis has proclaimed--is " Moved by Mercy ."

How might we as individuals and as a community be  moved by mercy  to promote and renew a culture of life in our nation?

Class of 2020 Freshman Day of Renewal

Today, the Class of 2020 gathered for their first Day of Renewal and Reflection as an entire class. The day was led by the Campus Ministry team, additional members of the faculty and staff, and around 45 members of the senior class that discerned a call to accompany the first year students by serving as peer ministers for the day.  The day included large and small group sessions, a Heritage Tour, and community building opportunities. The day concluded with Mass.

Kairos
Preparations are well underway for our school's 106th Kairos Retreat, which will take place at the Jesuit Spiritual Center in Milford from Tuesday, October 25
, through Friday, October 28. Over its now more than two decades at McNicholas, the Kairos Retreat experience has profoundly impacted the faith lives of thousands of McNicholas graduates. Kairos is an experience of authentic Christian community that is rooted in the sacramental life of the Church and through which students grow in intimacy with God and with one another through small group faith sharing, meditation and reflection, and faith witnessing by senior peer ministers and faculty members. A list of the students who will take part in Kairos 106 can be found here
