"Prayer is not an act of overcoming God's reluctance, but an active acceptance of God's highest willingness." Ernest Holmes
At Center for Spiritual Living, we believe that prayer is not a beseeching of God to do something for us; it is a movement of thought in consciousness along definite lines. What are these lines? They are:
First, that God is All There Is. There's nothing outside of the Love, Power, and Goodness that God is.
Second, that we are one with God -- there's nothing else we could be. We are created by and through and from the same power, the same "stuff," that God is.
Third, that God/Spirit/Universal Law gives us what we believe we should have. So we spend time in prayer changing what we believe we should have.
Fourth, that since the prayer is always granted, we can only be grateful.
Fifth, that once we are clear in our belief and thought, we can stop worrying about the "how," "when," and "what color" and leave it to God/Spirit/Universal Law.
When we follow these steps,
our minds are changed. There is no need, ever, to change God's mind -- it is always creating, always giving, always pouring itself out to us. We change our own minds, our own beliefs, our own consciousness and our outer circumstances change themselves.
So a complete prayer might look like this:
I know God is All. Nothing exists outside the magnificence and Love of Spirit. I am part of that magnificence and Love for all that I am is God. Knowing that, I know that the health and well-being of God is my health, my well-being. I know that anything that appears to be contrary to that truth is dissolved now for it has no power. The only power there is is the power of Spirit, the power of Love, the power of Perfect Health. I know that Power lives in me and shows Itself as my perfect health. I am grateful to know this truth about myself and about God. In gratitude, I release this prayer, knowing that the Universe, as it always does, has said yes to it. And so it is.
With great love,
Rev. CC
