Company Expansion Progress
Spectrum Thin Films is currently working to design and manufacture six new fully automated optical coating machines. These machines are much larger than a majority of our current machines. This will allow larger jobs to be completed with greater efficiency and can result in faster deliveries. It is projected that this expansion will increase capacity by 250%. Currently, the construction of the new machines are between 60%-80% complete and are expected to reach full completion in 2015.

Current Up-to-Date Technology

Of our existing machines, the IBS machine provides an advanced and unique approach to optical coatings. The IBS machine is capable of manufacturing complex optical coatings ranging from UV to near IR. This machine also has the capacity for large jobs, as shown above.

Our coatings range anywhere from large quantities of micro-optics to singular large optics. The picture below is the coating process for a 26 � inch lens.

Spectrum Thin Films effectively produces high quality premium coatings, such as infrared enhanced gold coatings as shown below on this 20 inch telescope mirror.
